Commercial Lines Account Manager

Job Description

Commercial Account Managers:


  • Serve as primary contact for Agents
  • Agency software experience
  • Real Estate Accounts
  • Excess and Surplus Lines
  • Standard Lines
  • Work directly with clients and carriers to assist agents to renew accounts and retain clients
  • Create new business submissions for agents who qualify
  • Create proposal for renewals upon request, including coverage checklist
  • Bind renewal coverage on behalf of agent and ensure all documents required are secured
  • Scan renewal marketing file in system
  • Check new business policies for accuracy, order changes to new business when coverage does not match bound, invoice
  • Prepare renewal submissions with all necessary carrier and premium updates
  • Obtain renewal exposures via form letter, 60 days out, and update submission with information for agents if needed
  • Generate claims notifications for carriers and inform agents, follow up as per procedures
  • Maintain suspense with attention to priority items, including binding confirmations, audits, outstanding u/w information
  • Review policy forms prior to sending for certificate issuance to ensure policy has appropriate coverage; if coverage is not accurate, advise CSR to endorse accordingly and issue both change request and certificate
  • Maintain documentation and ensure client file in ATS/CRM is consistent with paper file for E&O purposes
  • Pursue CE and designation opportunities
  • Follow agency standards and operational goals
  • Due to changing business conditions, additional duties or functions may be assigned to this position by management

Commercial Service Representatives (CSR’s) Support to the Account Manager


  • Prepare certificates, id cards, binders
  • Process change requests and set diaries for endorsement receipt
  • Order loss runs, experience mod worksheets
  • Prepare PAC or outside finance agreements
  • Process mail and distribute if needed, invoice endorsements if needed
  • Provide information to AM’s for billing, audit and policy information inquiries
  • Maintain documentation and ensure client file in AMS360 is consistent with paper file for E&O purposes
  • Review renewal policies, invoice and prepare cover letters for mailing
  • Serve as back-up support to CSM when AM is out of the office
  • Follow agency standards and operational goals
  • Due to changing business conditions, additional duties or functions may be assigned to this position by management
